Fire Pits

A fire pit is one of the cheapest ways to make an outdoor space look worth booking, and one of the only amenities that works in every season — warmth on a cold night, atmosphere on a warm one. Our range runs from a $335 collapsible steel pit to a 108" copper fire table, in gas, propane, smokeless wood-burning, and hand-forged American steel.

Every model here was chosen for something a host actually cares about, not just how it photographs. It has to survive weather without babying, clean up fast between guest turnovers, and be simple enough that a guest can light it and put it out without calling you.

Explore the full range below — fire pit tables built to double as a surface, smokeless designs that keep the campfire smell off your guests and your furniture, and fire bowls that read as a design piece by day and a centerpiece by night.

Outdoor Fire Pits for Short-Term Rental Hosts

A fire pit is the cheapest way to make an outdoor space look worth booking. It photographs well, it gives guests somewhere to be after dinner, and it works in every season — warmth in October, atmosphere in July. Our range starts at $335 for a collapsible steel pit you can carry out to the yard and runs up to a 108" copper fire table, and every one of them is chosen for something a host actually cares about: it survives weather, it cleans up fast between stays, and a guest can work it without calling you.

Below you'll find gas and propane fire tables, smokeless wood-burning pits, American-made steel fire bowls and portable pits — sorted by style, by material, and by how many people you need to seat.

Elementi Metropolis 56 inch rectangular concrete gas fire pit table on a patio

Modern Fire Pit Tables

A fire feature and a surface for drinks in one piece of furniture, which matters when deck space is tight. Elementi's concrete gas tables run 42" to 60" and light with a knob, so there is no wood to supply and nothing for a guest to get wrong.

Yard Craft The Forge smokeless wood-burning fire pit in steel

Smokeless Wood-Burning Fire Pits

Engineered airflow pulls the smoke back down through the fire instead of out at the people sitting around it. Two things come of that. Nobody spends the evening dragging their chair away from the smoke — and nobody goes back indoors carrying that campfire smell in their hair and clothes. The second one matters more in a rental than most hosts expect: it is the difference between a fire pit guests use every night of the stay and one they try once. From $608.

The Outdoor Plus Unity round powder-coated steel gas fire pit

Gas & Propane Fire Pits

The low-maintenance choice, and usually the easiest to get past a local fire code. No wood to store, no embers, no smoke smell on anybody at all, and most models shut off automatically. If your property has a burn ban risk, start here.

Ohio Flame Lunar artisan fire bowl, hand-cut American steel

Fire Bowls & Basins

Ohio Flame's hand-cut artisan bowls throw patterned light across a patio when they are lit, and The Outdoor Plus makes the hammered copper end of the range. Both read as a design object during the day and a fire feature at night.

Yard Craft Farrier collapsible portable steel fire pit

Portable & Collapsible Fire Pits

Move it, store it, or take it out of play entirely during a burn ban. Collapsible steel pits store flat in a shed between seasons, which keeps the yard clear for turnovers and keeps the pit out of the weather. From $335.

Why a Fire Pit Earns Its Place

It is a booking tool, not an accessory

Listings with a photographed outdoor gathering spot get more clicks and hold higher nightly rates. A lit fire pit is one of the few outdoor photos that reads instantly at thumbnail size.

It works in every season

Warmth on a cold night, atmosphere on a warm one. A fire pit is one of the only outdoor purchases that does not go dead for five months of the year.

It is low maintenance between stays

Gas models need nothing but a propane check. Smokeless wood pits leave a fraction of the ash — and because the smoke never reaches your guests, it never reaches your cushions, throws or indoor furniture either. That is real laundry you are not doing.

It is safe if you set it up right

Spark guards, automatic shut-off valves, non-combustible bases and clear house-manual instructions cover most of the risk. The FAQs below go through it properly.

Fire Pit FAQs for Hosts

Will a fire pit leave my guests smelling of smoke?

An ordinary open fire pit will, yes. Smoke holds in hair, coats and clothes, and it comes back indoors with your guests and transfers onto cushions, throws and soft furnishings. That is the single most common reason a fire pit gets used once on the first night and then ignored for the rest of the stay — and it is why it turns up in reviews as a complaint rather than a highlight. A smokeless pit largely solves it: the airflow design burns the smoke off before it ever reaches the people sitting around the fire, so guests get the crackle and the flame without the laundry afterwards. A gas fire pit avoids it completely, because there is no wood smoke in the first place.

Are fire pits safe for a short-term rental?

Yes, when installed and maintained properly. Choose a model with a spark guard or smokeless technology, place it on a non-flammable surface such as stone, concrete or pavers, keep it at least 10 feet from buildings, fences and trees per NFPA guidance, and post clear instructions in the house manual and near the pit.

Do I need a permit or need to follow local rules?

Often, yes. Some cities require a permit for permanent or large fire pits. Wood-burning pits can be restricted in high wildfire-risk areas such as California and Colorado. Seasonal burn bans can prohibit outdoor fires temporarily, and HOAs frequently set their own rules. Check with your local fire department or municipality before you install anything.

Which type is best for a rental?

Most hosts land on propane or natural gas: clean-burning, easy for a guest to operate, no smoke smell at all, and usually the simplest to square with local code. Smokeless wood-burning pits are the answer where guests want a real wood fire but you do not want the smoke going home with them. Fire pit tables do double duty as a surface, which helps on small decks.

How do I stop guests misusing it?

Write the instructions down — lighting, extinguishing, what fuel to use. Put signage at the pit reminding guests not to leave a fire unattended. Supply the safety kit: spark screen, extinguisher, sand bucket or a hose within reach. And supply the fuel yourself, so nobody arrives with their own wood or an accelerant. Dry seasoned hardwood also smokes far less than whatever a guest picks up at a gas station.

Will it show up in my reviews?

Consistently, yes — especially on family and group stays. It is one of the amenities guests name specifically rather than lumping into "nice outdoor space".

Can guests use it year-round?

Yes. Summer is atmosphere, autumn and winter are warmth and extra usable hours outside. Cover or store the pit during heavy rain and snow and it will last considerably longer.

What does delivery cost?

Freight is charged at cost and never marked up. Smaller pits ship by parcel. Larger tables and bowls ship by freight truck, and the cost depends on where you are and whether you need a lift gate or a residential delivery. Use the Request a Custom Quote button on any product page and we will come back with a real delivered number before you commit to anything.

Getting It Set Up

We would rather you end up with a fire pit that works than one that sits in a crate, so the support is part of the purchase:

  • Setup guides — step-by-step instructions you or your property manager can follow to assemble and maintain the pit safely.
  • Host safety checklists — a printable check that the pit is compliant, maintained and guest-ready before the next booking.
  • Installer network — if you would rather not do it yourself, we will connect you with vetted installers in your area who have handled outdoor fire features before.

Questions about which size suits your space, or what a freight delivery to your address actually costs? Get in touch and we will work it out with you.
