The Owner's Insights on the Fire Chalice Fire Bowl

Few objects carry as much shared meaning across cultures as the chalice, a vessel built for toasting, celebrating, and marking moments worth remembering. This fire bowl takes that universal form and scales it into a massive, hand-forged fire feature, designed and crafted by artisan Matt Skillman. It's crafted from thick carbon American steel, with the same no-maintenance durability found across every Ohio Flame piece. One honest note: this is a made-to-order artisan piece, so budget a standard two-week lead time before it ships.

Why You'll Love the Fire Chalice Fire Bowl

  • Chalice-inspired design. Borrows the universal symbolism of celebration and shared ritual directly for its form.
  • Individually hand-crafted. Designed and made by Matt Skillman, Ohio Flame's founder, not a mass-produced fire pit off an assembly line.
  • Patina Finish that deepens naturally. Gains character with every gathering it hosts.
  • Built-in Rain Drain system. Includes a 4" round blocking plate and centering tee if you'd rather close it off.
  • Lifetime warranty. Built to last through many more celebrations.
  • Three sizes, 30" to 41". Steel thickness increases with each size, adding presence as the piece scales up.

Why You Should Consider Ohio Flame

Ohio Flame's Artisan Collection is designed and hand-forged individually by founder Matt Skillman, not produced on a standard assembly line, so each Fire Chalice carries real symbolism alongside the character of an individually made object. That same combination of artisan craftsmanship and lifetime-warrantied engineering runs across the rest of the Artisan Collection.

Shipping and Installation

The Fire Chalice is hand-crafted to order, so budget a standard lead time of about 2 weeks from the time your order is placed before it's ready to ship. Once complete, we ship it free of charge within the continental USA; given the weight of the larger 37" and 41" sizes, those ship via freight, so inspect the fire bowl closely as soon as it arrives before signing off on delivery. No assembly is required, it's ready to place the moment it's uncrated. If you plan to use the blocking plate to close off the Rain Drain, have it on hand at delivery so it's ready to install right away.
