Description
The Owner's Insights on the Coronado XL
This is the large end of the range, and the sizes are the point. An extra large fire pit table at 84, 96 or 108 inches long is not a bigger version of a patio fire pit. It is a piece of hardscape that happens to burn.
Every one is 28 inches deep, the same as the smaller Coronados, so the number in the name is the length. Nine feet of rectangular fire pit table will run alongside a pool or down the length of a terrace. It will not sit in the middle of a normal patio without eating it.
The thing I tell everybody before they order: these ship back of truck with no liftgate. The 108 inch is 320 lbs in a crate nine feet long, and the driver will not take it off for you. You need a forklift or a tractor with forks at the address on delivery day. That one detail sinks more of these orders than the price does.
Why You'll Love the Coronado XL
-
Up to nine feet of flame. A wedding party stands along both sides of it rather than splitting into three huddles around something smaller.
-
Up to 240,000 BTU on the 108 inch. Enough output that people on the far side still feel it on an October evening.
-
28 inches deep, like the whole range. Long and narrow, so it lines a pool edge or a terrace instead of blocking the middle.
-
304 stainless burner and fire pan. The two parts that sit in the flame are the two parts cheap tables cut corners on.
-
Certified electronic ignition available. ANSI Z21.97 and CSA 2.41 listed, which is what an inspector wants on a permitted commercial install.
-
Delivery is included in the price. On a 320 lb crate that is not a small thing.
Why You Should Consider The Outdoor Plus
The Outdoor Plus hand-builds these in Ontario, California, and publishes a current product catalog with real per-size specifications rather than marketing dimensions. Their pans and burners are 304 stainless throughout. On a table this size going into a permitted install, having the certification numbers and the specification sheet in hand is worth as much as the steel.
Which Extra Large Fire Pit Table Size Fits
Measure the long run, not a circle. The 84 inch seats about ten along the two long sides. The 96 inch takes twelve. The 108 inch takes fourteen and needs nine clear feet in one direction plus walking room at both ends.
Allow three feet from the table edge to the back of a chair, and remember the ends. On a rectangle this long the walking route down each side is the thing that gets blocked, usually by one side table nobody planned for.
If you are choosing between two, the shorter one almost always looks better. A table with room around it reads as designed. Call or text 1 800 914 0074 or 352 274 6387 and we will size it against your actual space. Texting is fine.
There is also a 120 inch in the manufacturer's catalog that we do not list. If ten feet is what your space wants, call and we will quote it.
Delivery: Read This Before You Order
Delivery is included in the price, with no freight invoice afterwards. But these three sizes ship back of truck, and that is different from every other fire pit on this site.
There is no liftgate on a crate this long. The driver cannot hand it down, and they are not permitted to try. You need a forklift or a tractor with forks at the delivery address on the day, plus someone to sign.
If you do not have access to one, call us on 1 800 914 0074 or 352 274 6387 before you order. We can usually work something out with the carrier. It costs a great deal less to arrange that now than to turn a truck away and pay a redelivery.
Check the crate over before you sign. Freight damage is rare and it is fixable, but only if it is written on the paperwork at the time.
Natural Gas or Propane, and Where the Tank Goes
Natural gas means a line run out to the table by a licensed plumber, and then fuel stops being something anyone thinks about. At up to 240,000 BTU on the 108 inch, have the plumber size the line properly. This is not a small appliance.
Propane means tanks, and the Coronado does not hide one inside the base. On a table this long, running it on 20 lb bottles is impractical anyway. Most people at this size run natural gas or a buried tank.
If you are set on propane, plan where the supply sits before you buy. A visible tank beside a nine-foot centerpiece undoes the look you paid for.
Ignition on a Table Guests Operate
Match Lit is manual and cheapest. On an 84 to 108 inch burner it also means walking the length of the table with a match, which gets old.
Match Lit with Flame Sense adds automatic gas shut-off if the flame goes out and is LC certified. Flame Sense with Spark adds a push button. The 12V and 110V electronic systems light from a switch or remote, and the 110V carries the ANSI Z21.97 and CSA 2.41 listing.
For a venue or a rental where guests or staff light it, buy a flame-sensing system. Wind lifts a flame off a burner this exposed, and a system that does not notice is gas running across a patio full of people.

Lava rock is included, fire glass is not
Lava rock comes in the box and looks fine lit. Fire glass is the upgrade most people want once they have seen it, and it is not supplied.
Budget 75 lbs on the 84 inch and 100 lbs on the 96 and 108. A glass wind guard matters more at this length than on a small table, because there is simply more flame for the wind to get hold of.
Honest About Lead Time
Built to order in your size, finish and fuel. Production has been averaging 3 to 4 weeks, then freight. Figure four to six weeks from order to patio.
That is an average and not a promise. Backlog moves through the season and fire tables get busy from September on. Call or text 1 800 914 0074 or 352 274 6387 for today's real number rather than the one that is easier to sell.
Site prep
The table needs a level base. Concrete or properly set pavers. At 320 lbs across nine feet, any dip in the slab shows in the rim line and in how the flame sits.
Gas connection is a licensed job, and at up to 240,000 BTU the line sizing genuinely matters. Clearances and local code apply. We can point you at qualified installers if you do not have one.
Who this is not for
Anyone with a standard patio, where this size overwhelms the space and the 48 or 60 inch is the better buy. Anyone without forklift access on delivery day. Anyone running propane off bottles. Anyone who needs it next month.
Because each table is built to your order, we cannot take it back once production starts. Spend a minute on size, finish and fuel. Not sure? Call 1 800 914 0074 or 352 274 6387 and we will work through it. We would far rather answer the question first.
Smaller sizes and the rest of the range
If this is more table than the space wants, the Coronado in 48, 60 and 72 inch is the same table at patio scale, and those sizes come on a liftgate like everything else.
The rectangular fire pit tables sit alongside round and square options, and the full Outdoor Plus range compares finishes, fuels and ignitions in one place.

For Hotels, Resorts and Businesses
Furnishing a boutique hotel, resort or other business? This fire feature suits a terrace, pool deck or courtyard, and The Outdoor Plus delivers to hotel loading docks. It is made to order, so it can't be returned once it goes into production.
Sizes 84" and larger arrive by freight and need a forklift at your end to unload, so plan for that before you order.
The warranty is different for commercial installations. The burner ring and burner bars keep the lifetime warranty. The electronics, gas valves and pilot assembly are covered for 6 months (1 year for a home), and the stainless steel and aluminum pans for 1 year (5 years for a home). Read The Outdoor Plus warranty before you order, and ask us if your project needs something different.
Planning more than one fire feature, or a whole terrace? Call or text 1 800 914 0074 or 352 274 6387, or email sales@optimaloutdooroasis.com, and we will help you choose sizes and finishes. Our guide to hotel fire pits covers sizing, certification and what an inspector will ask about.
