How Big a Rectangular Fire Pit Table Do You Need?

Measure the long run of your patio, not a circle. The 48 inch seats four comfortably along the two long sides. The 60 inch takes six. The 72 inch takes eight and wants a genuinely open run, because people have to get past both ends.

Allow about three feet from the table edge to the back of a chair. On a rectangle the pinch point is always the ends, which is where somebody puts a side table and ruins the walking route.

Natural Gas or Propane, and Where the Tank Goes

Natural gas means a line run out to the table by a licensed plumber, and then you never think about fuel again. Propane means a 20 lb tank, and on this model that tank does not fit inside the base.

That is worth reading twice if you are buying a rectangular fire pit table for propane. The Coronado cannot store the tank. You will need a tank beside it, or an enclosure you build, or a line run under the patio to a tank sited somewhere out of sight.

On a rental, the second thing to plan is who checks the tank. A guest will not message you to say it ran out on their second night. They will put it in the review. Build a tank check into the turnover list and keep a full spare on the property.

Ignition: Which One for a Property Guests Use

Match Lit is the cheapest and the simplest, and it is the right pick if you are the one lighting it. You hold a match at the burner and turn a key valve.

Match Lit with Flame Sense adds an automatic gas shut-off if the flame goes out, and it is LC certified. Flame Sense with Spark adds a push button. The 12V and 110V electronic systems light it from a switch or a remote, and the 110V is CSA certified.

For a property guests operate without you there, buy a flame-sensing option. Wind puts a flame out on an open table like this, and the difference between a system that notices and one that does not is gas pooling on your patio.

Delivery, Site Prep and Installation

Delivery is included in the price. No freight bill afterwards and no surprise at checkout. That is genuinely unusual on a freight item this size and it is one of the reasons we carry this brand.

It still arrives by semi truck at the curb, not carried into your yard. The carrier calls to book a window and somebody has to be there to meet it and sign. Look the crate over before you sign, because freight damage can only be put right if it is noted on the paperwork at the time.

The table needs a level base. Concrete or solid pavers. At 220 lbs on the 72 inch, an unlevel pad shows immediately in the flame and in the way the rim sits.

Gas connection is a licensed job. Clearances and local code apply, and on a rental the certificate matters as much as the work. We can point you at qualified installers if you do not have someone.
