Two routes, and they suit different people

Everything on this page does the same job: it puts a real cooking surface, storage and counter space on your patio. They get there differently, and the right one depends on what you are optimizing for.

The weight question decides it more often than price

A cast concrete island is a permanent object. It wants a slab, and once it is placed it is placed. If your patio is concrete or pavers and you want it finished the day it lands, that is the simpler path.

The aluminum islands weigh roughly 30 pounds per linear foot. The manufacturer builds them for decks, patios or pavers without footers, which a masonry island simply cannot do. If the space you have in mind is a wood deck, that narrows the choice for you.

Have your builder confirm the load for your specific deck either way. We would rather you ask than assume.

What you still buy separately

On the Firefly islands, the frame and cladding are what you are buying. The grill, side burners and refrigeration are separate line items, and the island is precut for specific Blaze components so they drop straight in. Tell us what you want in it and we will price the whole build as one number.

On the Signature islands the appliances are part of the unit and are listed on each product page.

Sizing

Six feet is the gathering size. Two people can work it at once and it will not take over the patio.

Eight feet is the entertaining size. Cook on one end, stage in the middle, work on the other, with two people going without colliding. On a property that regularly hosts a crowd, that is the point where it stops being a grill station and starts being a kitchen.

Seven feet, on the bar islands, is a different job again: less cooking, more standing around it with a drink.

Delivery

Freight on the Firefly islands is quoted for your address after you order and invoiced separately, because a crate this size is priced address by address. Checkout will not collect it, and we would rather show you the real number than bury it in the price.

For the Signature islands, call or text us for the delivered price before you order.

Lead time

The Firefly factory is quoting 3 to 4 weeks from order to shipped, or about two weeks if the size and finish you want is already boxed on the shelf. We check at the time of your order and tell you which one you are looking at before you commit.

Free layout drawing

Send us the dimensions of your space and a rough sketch, and we will send back a drawing of the layout with the components placed, free, usually the same day or the next business day. There is no limit on revisions. We redraw it until it is right.

On this page, $5,452 to $13,999 depending on size, material and whether appliances are included. The aluminum Firefly islands start lower because the grill is ordered separately; the concrete Signature islands arrive with appliances built in.
