The screen is dark gray PVC-coated polyester in a powder-coated aluminum frame. It's breathable, so air still moves through, and ALEKO rates it to block up to 95% of UV rays. It comes in three sizes, each made for one side of a specific ALEKO pergola.

Pull Down Screen or Pergola Curtains: Which Works Better for a Rental?

Pergola curtains usually cost less, but loose fabric panels move in the wind and need tying back after guests leave. This pull down screen runs in an aluminum frame on one side of your pergola. Guests lower it to the height they want and raise it just as easily. For a rental, that means fewer loose panels to replace and a cleaner look in your listing photos. If you only need a soft, decorative feel on a pergola you rarely use, curtains may be enough.

Can You Add a Retractable Screen to an Existing Pergola?

Yes, if it's a matching ALEKO pergola. This retractable pergola screen installs onto one side of a compatible Noble or Galaxy frame, and ALEKO includes the frame components and installation hardware. It won't fit other brands or other ALEKO models unless ALEKO lists them. It's the simplest way to add privacy to a pergola you already own, without building a fence or planting a hedge.

How Much Wind Can a Pergola Screen Handle?

ALEKO rates this screen for winds up to 35 mph. For context, that's close to a near gale, when whole trees start to sway. Your screen is fine for everyday breezes, but raise it when a storm is coming. For a rental, add one line to your house rules asking guests to roll the screen up in high winds.

Installation and Delivery

The screen system arrives pre-assembled, with the aluminum frame components, hand pull and installation hardware in the box. You'll attach it to one side of your pergola, so plan on a helper and a ladder. ALEKO hasn't published an installation manual or video for this screen yet. • Size names are nominal. Actual screen lengths are 106.5 in, 131.46 in and 145.6 in. All are 93.5 in tall.
• One screen covers one side. Order one per side you want to close.
• Manual operation. Hand pull only. There is no motor or remote.
• Wind limit. Rated to 35 mph. Raise the screen before storms.
• Assembly required. Installation hardware is included. ALEKO doesn't list tools in the box, so have yours and a ladder ready.
• Not included. The pergola, furniture and decor shown in photos.
• Warranty. ALEKO lists a 3-year limited warranty. Ask us for the written terms before you order.
