Description

A patio without shade is a patio that doesn't get used — and on an STR listing, an unusable outdoor space is a missed opportunity that shows up in nightly rate, booking frequency, and the reviews that mention "gorgeous but too hot in the afternoon." The right motorized awning doesn't just fix that problem. It makes the outdoor space a feature guests actively write about.

This Italian Series full cassette motorized patio awning is engineered for exactly that outcome. A 6063-T5 aluminum frame with powder-coated black finish, 300 gsm 100% acrylic fabric in Grigio gray, and a full cassette housing that protects the fabric completely when retracted — this is a permanent outdoor installation built for year-round performance, not a seasonal add-on that gets rolled up and stored in winter.

Operation is frictionless by design. The pre-installed motor connects to a Wi-Fi smart hub that pairs with a smartphone app, allowing guests to extend or retract the awning from anywhere on the property without finding a switch or reading an instruction card. The included remote and wall-mounted remote holder give guests a second control option for instant operation. A manual hand crank provides a backup for non-electric operation when needed.

Available in five sizes from 10×8 ft to 20×10 ft — covering 76 to 200 square feet of shade — this is a single consolidated listing with Shopify variant selectors for each size. Select the width that fits your mounting wall and the projection that covers your seating area, and the awning ships fully assembled, ready for wall mounting with the included hardware.

A Full Cassette Motorized Patio Awning Built for Year-Round Outdoor Living

The full cassette format is the definitive distinction between a long-term outdoor awning investment and a product that looks tired within two seasons. Every component — fabric, arms, motor — retracts completely into the aluminum cassette housing when not in use, which means nothing is exposed to sun, rain, wind, or debris between deployments.

Why Full Cassette Beats Open-Arm for Long-Term Fabric Protection

Open-arm and semi-cassette awnings leave the fabric partially or fully exposed when retracted — which means constant UV degradation, moisture absorption, and debris accumulation even on the days the awning isn't being used. Over two to three seasons, that exposure ages the fabric visibly and accelerates the fading and weakening that leads to replacement costs.

A full cassette housing eliminates that exposure entirely. When retracted, the Grigio gray acrylic fabric sits sealed inside the aluminum cassette, protected from everything the weather delivers. The fabric you mount is the fabric guests see two years later — clean, taut, and color-consistent, because it's only ever exposed when it's actually in use.

For STR hosts who can't monitor their properties daily, that protection isn't just aesthetic — it's operational. A cassette awning that maintains its appearance without host intervention is one less maintenance variable to manage across a full booking season.

6063-T5 Aluminum Frame, 100% Acrylic Fabric, and Italian Engineering

The 6063-T5 aluminum alloy used in the frame is an aerospace and architectural grade specification — chosen for its strength-to-weight ratio, corrosion resistance, and dimensional stability under thermal cycling. The powder-coated black finish adds a further layer of corrosion protection while delivering a clean, contemporary aesthetic that complements the Grigio gray fabric without competing with it.

The 300 gsm 100% acrylic fabric is woven specifically for outdoor awning use — UV-stabilized, water-resistant, and rated UPF 50+ for maximum UV blocking performance. It blocks 98% of UVA and UVB rays, which is the specification that matters for both guest comfort and furniture protection beneath the awning. Acrylic retains its color and structural integrity under sustained sun exposure far longer than polyester alternatives at this weight.

The dual internal arm springs maintain consistent fabric tension across the full extension range, preventing fabric sag that develops in lower-quality awning arms over time. Zinc-coated steel arm cables and expansion bolts complete a hardware specification chosen for outdoor corrosion resistance throughout the assembly.

App Control, Remote, LED Lights — Every Feature STR Hosts Actually Use

The Italian Series awning is designed for guest-facing use in a short-term rental context — which means every control interface needs to be intuitive enough for a guest who has never used it before, reliable enough to work every time, and durable enough to hold up across hundreds of deployment cycles.

Smartphone App and Remote Control That Guests Can Operate Without a Manual

The Wi-Fi smart hub connects the pre-installed motor to any standard home network, pairing with a smartphone app that allows full awning control from anywhere on the property. Guests extend the awning when they sit down for lunch and retract it when they head inside — without locating a wall switch, finding the remote, or understanding any setup process beyond opening the app.

The included remote and wall-mounted remote holder give guests a dedicated physical control option that doesn't require a phone. The wall-mounted holder keeps the remote visible, accessible, and in the same place between every guest stay — eliminating the "where's the remote" friction point that generates unnecessary guest messages and review comments.

A manual hand crank is included as a backup for non-electric operation — useful during power outages or if the motor requires service. For STR hosts, the existence of a manual backup means a motor issue doesn't render the awning non-functional for an in-progress stay.

Built-In LED Lights and the Evening Outdoor Experience That Earns Reviews

The built-in LED lights mounted in the cassette housing illuminate the space beneath the awning after dark — two brightness settings allow guests to adjust from ambient mood lighting to functional outdoor dining illumination. Evening outdoor use is consistently the most popular time slot for patio engagement on STR properties, and lighting that enables that use without requiring a separate setup is a genuine amenity enhancement.

LED lighting positioned at awning height creates a distinctly different outdoor atmosphere than ground-level or overhead string lights — it illuminates the space from above with a clean, architectural look that photographs well and reads as intentional in listing images. That visual quality matters in the photos that appear on booking platforms and in the guest images that market your listing organically.

For hosts who want to extend the functional hours of an outdoor space without installing permanent landscape lighting, the awning's built-in LEDs deliver that outcome with zero additional infrastructure — the lights are part of the awning, powered through the same connection, and controlled independently of the extension mechanism.

Five Sizes, One Consolidated Listing — Finding the Right Fit for Your Property

The Italian Series awning is available in five sizes selected to cover the full range of standard residential patio and deck configurations — from a compact 10×8 ft two-arm unit for a modest seating area to a 20×10 ft three-arm installation covering a full outdoor dining and lounge zone. All five sizes share the same frame color, fabric, hardware specification, and feature set — the only difference is coverage area and arm count.

From 76 to 200 Square Feet of Shade — Matching Coverage to Your Outdoor Space

The 10×8 ft and 12×10 ft and 14×10 ft configurations use a two-arm design appropriate for standard patio widths and moderate projection distances. The 16×10 ft and 20×10 ft configurations step up to a three-arm design that provides the additional structural support required for wider spanning and heavier fabric loads — a spec distinction worth noting when selecting between the larger sizes.

Coverage area scales meaningfully across the range: 76 sq ft at 10×8, 105 sq ft at 12×10, 119 sq ft at 14×10, 152 sq ft at 16×10, and 200 sq ft at 20×10. For reference, a standard 6-person outdoor dining set occupies approximately 80–100 sq ft — meaning the 12×10 or 14×10 covers a full dining configuration with clearance, while the 16×10 and 20×10 accommodate larger lounge and entertainment setups.

When measuring for size selection, the frame dimension is the mounting width and the second number is the projection from the wall. A 10×8 awning mounts at 10 ft wide and projects 8 ft from the wall; a 20×10 mounts at 20 ft wide and projects 10 ft. Measure your mounting wall width and your desired shade projection before selecting your variant.

Ships Fully Assembled — Wall Mount and You're Done

The Italian Series awning ships fully assembled — frame, fabric, motor, LED lights, and cassette housing are pre-integrated at the factory. Installation is wall mounting only: secure the mounting brackets to a structural wall surface using the included zinc-coated steel expansion bolts, hang the awning, connect the Wi-Fi hub, and the installation is complete.

No assembly means no component-level errors, no motor calibration steps, and no risk of fabric misalignment during setup. For hosts managing installation independently or coordinating with a general handyman rather than a specialist awning installer, that pre-assembled configuration significantly reduces the skill and time requirement for a clean, functional installation.

The included wall-mounted remote holder installs alongside the awning brackets, giving the outdoor space a finished, intentional look from the first day of operation — nothing is improvised or makeshift about the installation footprint the awning leaves on a wall.

Who This is For (and Who It's Not)

This motorized patio awning is perfect if you:
✔ Want a motorized, app-controlled shade solution that guests can operate intuitively without instructions
✔ Are installing a permanent outdoor shade structure that protects its fabric year-round inside a full cassette housing
✔ Need a range of size options — from a compact 10×8 patio cover to a full 20×10 entertainment canopy — on a single listing
✔ Want built-in LED lighting that extends the functional hours of your outdoor space without additional infrastructure
✔ Need a fully assembled awning that installs with wall mounting only and no assembly required

This may not be right if you:
✖ Are looking for a freestanding shade structure — this awning requires a structural wall for mounting
✖ Expect deployment in sustained winds above 13–18 mph — retract the awning in high wind conditions per the manufacturer guidelines
✖ Need a color other than Grigio gray — see additional colorway listings for alternative fabric options

What Owning This Looks Like

Picture your guests pulling out their phones at 1 PM, tapping the app, and watching the awning extend over the patio in seconds — then leaving it extended through dinner as the LED lights come on automatically at dusk. That's the outdoor experience that generates a review mentioning the patio by name.

  • A shaded outdoor dining and lounge space that guests use throughout the day — not just in the morning before the sun hits
  • An evening patio atmosphere under built-in LED lighting that extends guest time outdoors and deepens the experience they write about
  • A low-maintenance, fully cassette-protected awning installation that looks as good at the end of a full season as it did on day one
  • A smart home outdoor feature — app and remote controlled — that positions your listing as thoughtfully equipped and guest-forward

This awning doesn't just shade a patio. It transforms it into the outdoor space that becomes the reason guests choose your listing, stay longer, and come back.

Shipping & Installation

The Italian Series Full Cassette Motorized Patio Awning ships free to all contiguous US addresses — no PO Boxes. Orders are processed within 12–24 hours Monday through Friday. Given the size and weight of this unit (88–155 lbs depending on variant), larger sizes ship via LTL freight and typically arrive within 7–20 business days. Standard ground shipping takes 3–5 business days for smaller variants. Rural shipping surcharges may apply and will be calculated at checkout.

Inspect your delivery carefully before signing off with the carrier. Photograph any damage to packaging or the cassette housing before accepting — damage claims require documented evidence at the time of receipt.

Installation requires wall mounting only — the awning ships fully assembled with no component-level assembly required. Mount the steel wall brackets to a structural wall surface (masonry, concrete, or wood stud framing) using the included zinc-coated expansion bolts, hang the pre-assembled cassette frame, connect the Wi-Fi smart hub to your property's network, and pair with the app. Total installation time with two people is typically 1–2 hours depending on wall surface and mounting height.

Ensure the mounting wall is structurally sound and rated to support the awning weight plus wind load before installation. For larger variants (16×10 and 20×10), professional installation by a licensed contractor is recommended to ensure correct load distribution across the three-arm bracket configuration.
