View full detailsGuests type "airbnb with sauna" and "airbnb with hot tub" into Google all winter, and most listings in any town have neither. Everything on this page runs outdoors year-round: saunas with the heater included, wood-fired hot tubs, and a cedar cold plunge.
Your listing photos look like every other listing in town until one of them has steam coming off a cedar tub in January. That is the whole point of this page. A sauna, a wood-fired hot tub or a cold plunge turns a property guests scroll past into the one they screenshot and send to the group chat. We carry all three, and they are built to live outside through every season.
Saunas start at $4,999.95 with the Harvia heater and stones included. Wood-fired hot tubs start at $2,995.95 and need no electrician. The cedar cold plunge is $1,695.95, and the sauna and cold plunge sets below pair the two halves of the hot-then-cold ritual at a lower price than buying them separately. It works the same at a place you keep for yourself.
Cedar, Finland pine, Canadian hemlock and thermowood, seating two people up to eight. Barrel saunas, square cabins, and models with a covered porch for cooling down between rounds. Every one ships with its heater, and every sauna here ships free.
Shop outdoor saunasThe Lumina cedar ice bath holds 118 gallons and needs a level spot and a garden hose. No power, no plumbing, no permit. It is the cheapest way on this page to give a listing something no neighbor has.
Shop cold plunge tubs422 gallons of pine tub heated by a wood stove, so there is no 220-volt circuit to run and no electric bill ticking over 24 hours a day. One stainless model doubles as a cold plunge the rest of the year.
Shop wood-fired hot tubsA barrel sauna with a cedar ice bath, or a wood-fired hot tub with a cedar ice bath. The sets are priced below the two pieces bought on their own, and both ship free.
See the sauna and cold plunge setMost hosts can only fit one this year. This is how the three compare on the things that actually decide it: what it costs, what it needs on site, and how fast a guest can use it after they arrive.
| What matters | Outdoor sauna | Wood-fired hot tub | Cold plunge |
|---|---|---|---|
| Price here | $4,999.95 to $11,995.95 | $2,995.95 to $3,995.95 | $1,695.95 |
| Power needed | Dedicated circuit for a 6 to 8 kW heater, installed by an electrician | None. Firewood only | None |
| Ready to use | 30 to 45 minutes from cold | 2 to 3 hours from cold | Fill it and add ice. In winter it gets there on its own |
| Running cost | Power only while it is on, a few hours a week | Firewood per soak, nothing between guests | Water. Drain and refill between stays |
| Guest searches | "airbnb with sauna" 720 a month, 1,000 in Dec and Jan | "airbnb with hot tub" 1,900 a month, 3,600 in Jan | Still rare, so it is the one guests talk about |
| Best for | Cold-climate and ski properties, group bookings, winter rates | Couples and small groups, properties with a view, off-grid cabins | Pairing with either of the other two |
If you are choosing on price, start with the wood-fired hot tub. If you are choosing on bookings, the sauna is the one with the longest winter runway, because sauna searches peak in January when most outdoor amenities are packed away. If you already have one of the two, add the cold plunge and you have the pairing people plan trips around.
Contrast therapy is the plain practice of heating up in a sauna or hot tub, then getting into cold water, then repeating. People who do it talk about sleeping better and feeling less sore the next morning. We are not doctors and we do not make health claims for the tubs. What we can tell you is what it does for a listing.
Guests search for it by name. "Sauna and cold plunge" gets about 6,600 US searches a month, and "fire and ice sauna" has grown from 210 to around 1,000 a month in a year. A property that offers both is answering a question guests are already asking, and almost no listing in a small market can say yes.
Put the rules in the house manual before the first guest arrives. No unsupervised children. No alcohol in the sauna. A time limit. Anyone who is pregnant, or who has a heart condition or blood pressure trouble, should talk to a doctor before using heat or cold. Write it down once and it protects you every turnover after.
These are US Google numbers pulled in September 2026, and they say the same thing from three directions. "Outdoor sauna" runs about 33,100 searches a month and climbs to 49,500 in January. "Wood fired hot tub" runs 6,600 and peaks at 9,900 over the same stretch. "Cold plunge" holds near 60,500 every month of the year, summer and winter alike.
For a rental that means the amenity goes to work exactly when your calendar is softest. A fire pit is a September purchase. A sauna is a January one, and it is also a February, March and December one.
It is the sequence most people use: heat first, then cold, then rest, and repeat two or three times. Guests will figure out their own rhythm. Your job is the manual: post a time limit, keep a path between the two that is not icy, and put a hook for towels where they can reach it from the plunge.
Here, $4,999.95 for a Finland pine barrel that seats three or four, up to $11,995.95 for a red cedar cabin that seats eight with Bluetooth audio. That price includes the Harvia heater and the stones. Add an electrician to run the dedicated circuit, and a level pad if you do not already have one. Get both quoted locally before you order, because they vary more by zip code than the sauna does.
For a sauna, yes. The 6 to 8 kW heater needs its own circuit, and that is not a job for a power strip. For a wood-fired hot tub or the cold plunge, no. Both run with no electricity at all, which is why they suit cabins and properties where trenching a line would cost more than the tub.
A level, load-bearing pad: concrete, pavers or a properly built deck. Barrel saunas and the tubs need the least preparation of anything we sell. Remember that a full 422-gallon hot tub weighs over 3,500 pounds with people in it, so a deck has to be built for that, not just for a patio set.
That is what all of it is built for, and winter is when it earns its keep. In a hard freeze, drain any tub that will sit unused, because ice expanding inside a full tub is the one thing that will crack it. Keep the sauna roof and door swing clear of snow.
Every sauna on this page ships free, and the hot tubs and the cold plunge show free shipping at checkout too, to the lower 48 states. All of it arrives by freight truck, which means a semi and curbside delivery, and you need to be there to receive it. If your address is rural or remote, call or text us with your zip code before you order and we will check it for a freight surcharge.
Less than a conventional spa. A sauna gets wiped down and aired out. A cold plunge gets drained and refilled rather than dosed with chemicals. A wood-fired tub used by guests should be treated like any shared hot tub, so follow your local health rules for rentals. The once-a-season job is washing and treating the exterior wood.
Sizing is where this goes wrong in both directions. Too small and the sauna stops being the amenity you paid for. Too big and you are heating empty benches every session. Tell us how many people the property sleeps, where the sauna or tub would go, and what the power situation is, and we will tell you which one fits. Call or text 1 800 914 0074 or 352 274 6387. Texting is fine. Or send us a note and we will come back with a straight answer.
