Why round works on a rental

A circle has no head of the table. Guests who do not know each other sit down without working out a hierarchy first, and the conversation runs across the fire rather than along a line. On a property where the people using the patio met that afternoon, that is the arrangement that actually gets used.

It also photographs better from above, which matters when the patio is one of the shots carrying your listing.

What is in this range

The Unity range comes in seven powder-coat colors: White, Pewter, Black, Gray, Silver Vein, Copper Vein and Java. Silver Vein and Copper Vein are textured rather than flat, which hides marks better on a surface guests will put things down on.

Propane on a round table

On a propane model the tank sits inside the base, so there is no separate tank box parked next to the table spoiling the look. Practically, the thing to plan for is who checks it. A guest will not tell you the tank ran out on their second night, they will tell the review. Build a tank check into the turnover list and keep a spare full one on the property.

If the property has a gas line and you would rather not think about tanks at all, every Unity and the Lunar Bowl are available in natural gas instead.

Sizing by seat count

A 42 or 48 inch round seats four chairs comfortably and six at a squeeze. A 60 inch seats six properly. The 72 inch seats eight and needs a genuinely open patio around it, because the walking route has to go all the way around the circle rather than down one side.

Allow about three feet from the table edge to the back of a chair, and check that the total circle including chairs still leaves a clear route past.

Ignition

The Unity tables offer five ignition types from match lit through to a CSA certified plug and play. If guests light it themselves, choose an option with flame sense, which shuts the gas off if the flame blows out. On an exposed property that is not a theoretical risk.
