Description

A single-wall louvered roof built by Equinox by Four Seasons, sized and finished to order -- at a lower price than the Ultra.

This isn't a big-box pergola kit.

The Equinox Classic is the entry point into the same Equinox by Four Seasons platform as the Ultra: the same aluminum frame, the same 20-year warranty, the same single manufacturer behind both. The difference is the blade. Where the Ultra runs a double-wall blade with interlocking winged tips, the Classic uses Equinox's standard single-wall aluminum louver, sealed with wool-pile weather stripping where the blades meet closed.

Every Classic is built to order for your space: sized and colored the way your property actually needs it, not pulled off a shelf.

In plain terms: every Equinox roof is made of metal slats that tilt open and closed. The Classic's slats are one metal panel each, with a soft weather-strip where they meet when the roof closes -- it still closes tight and keeps rain out, and it costs less. The Equinox Ultra uses two metal panels stacked together per slat, with edges that lock together like a zipper instead of the weather-strip -- stronger and seals even tighter, for more money.

The Owner's Insights on the Equinox Classic

Most people shopping this category assume more expensive automatically means better built. With Equinox, it mostly means more blade. The Classic is the same company, the same aluminum, the same warranty on the frame -- just the single-wall louver instead of the Ultra's double-wall, interlocking-tip design.

What that trade actually buys you is a lower price for a roof that still closes, still drains through an integrated gutter, and still carries the Equinox name behind it. If you're covering a patio for shade and the occasional rain rather than running the roof hard through every storm season, that's a real saving for a difference you may never notice.

It's not the cheapest louvered roof on the market -- that's still the DIY aluminum kits. The Classic is for someone who wants a built-to-order, professionally installed Equinox system without paying for the Ultra's heavier-duty blade. If you're not sure which tier your property needs, call us and tell us how you'll use it; we'll tell you honestly if the Classic is enough or if the Ultra is worth the jump.

Why You'll Love the Equinox Classic

  • Single-wall aluminum louver. Equinox's standard blade profile, sealed with wool-pile weather stripping when closed -- lighter-duty than the Ultra's double-wall design, at a lower price.
  • Structural-grade aluminum, not a garden-center gauge. Every engineered profile is 6061 or 6005A aluminum, the same class used in load-bearing architectural framing.
  • Integrated gutter drainage. Closed louvers direct water into a built-in gutter system instead of dripping straight off the edge.
  • Same 20-year structural warranty as the Ultra. The blade tier changes; the frame, finish, and warranty backing it does not.
  • Motorized with smart-home control. Runs on Equinox's 12V linear motor (the Classic's only motor option) and supports the same Bond Bridge Pro and Bond Breeze Pro smart controls as the Ultra, confirmed with Equinox in October 2026.
  • Built around the same accessory ecosystem. Screens and other add-ons that fit the Equinox platform fit the Classic too -- ask us which are confirmed compatible with this tier. Low-voltage LED lighting is supplied through Equinox's partnership with Lumien Lighting, backed by a lifetime warranty on the housing and 10 years on the LED light source.

Why You Should Consider Equinox by Four Seasons

Equinox by Four Seasons has been building louvered roofs for two decades, and the company now runs as part of the Four Seasons Building Products Group: one Phoenix warehouse, one engineering standard, one sales and support team behind every system, Classic or Ultra. You're ordering from the same manufacturer either way, not a stripped-down badge-engineered line.

How Much Does an Equinox Classic Cost?

We're not showing a price on this page yet, and we'd rather tell you why than leave you guessing. Equinox builds every system to order from individually priced components, and there's no single sticker price that means anything until we know your size and options. Call or text 1-800-914-0074 or email sales@optimaloutdooroasis.com with your rough dimensions and we'll build you a real number. As a starting point: the Classic runs meaningfully less than the Equinox Ultra at the same size, because you're paying for one less wall of aluminum per blade.

Equinox Classic vs. Equinox Ultra: What's Actually Different

Same manufacturer, same frame material, same warranty on the structure. The difference is entirely in the blade. The Ultra runs a double-wall blade with winged tips that interlock when closed, which seals tighter and costs more. The Classic runs Equinox's standard single-wall blade with a wool-pile weather seal -- it still closes and drains, it just hasn't been built to the same heavier-duty standard as the Ultra. Both motorize the same way, and both support the same Bond Bridge Pro and Bond Breeze Pro smart controls; the Classic just runs on the linear motor only, where the Ultra also offers a gear-driven option.

If you're running this roof hard every season, in a climate with serious wind or heavy rain, or furnishing a rental where it has to perform unattended, the Ultra is the one to spend the extra on. If you want shade and reasonable rain protection for occasional use and would rather save the difference, the Classic is a legitimate, honestly-built Equinox system, not a compromise. Call us and tell us how the space gets used; we'll tell you straight which tier fits.

Supporting Documents

Not yet on hand, and not published here until we do: the stamped engineering report for your state and roof size. Call us if you need it before you order and we'll chase it down for you.

Who This Is For (and Who It's Not)

The Equinox Classic is a strong fit if you:

✓ Want a built-to-order, professionally installed Equinox roof without paying for the Ultra's heavier-duty blade
✓ Need shade and reasonable rain protection for regular but not constant use
✓ Want motorized, smart-home-ready operation and the same 20-year structural warranty as the Ultra, at a lower price

It may not be right if you:

✗ Need the gear-motor option -- the Classic runs on the linear motor only; the Ultra offers both
✗ Are furnishing a rental you won't be at to manage, or a property that sees serious wind or storm seasons (look at the Equinox Ultra instead)
✗ Need something up next week -- this is a built-to-order system, not a same-week install

Freight and Delivery

Equinox ships from its central hub in Phoenix, Arizona. Built-to-order lead time has averaged about four months historically. That's an average, not a promise, and it moves with the factory's backlog. Call or text 1-800-914-0074 and we'll give you today's real number instead of the one that's easiest to sell.

Freight is a separate cost. Delivery is not free and it is not included in the price. Checkout does not collect it only because we do not know your address until you order, and a system this size gets priced address by address. We quote the real freight for where you live, send it as its own invoice, and it is paid before your Classic leaves the Phoenix hub.

Professional installation is strongly recommended for a system this size. We offer installer sourcing assistance if you don't already have someone lined up.

Questions on anything above, call or text Kristin at 1-800-914-0074 or 352-274-6387, or email sales@optimaloutdooroasis.com. We'll size it with you and get you a real number.
