Two-sided or single-sided?
A two-sided see-through fireplace is the one worth thinking about. It divides a patio from a lawn, or a dining area from a lounge area, and both sides get the fire. At 72 inches it costs the same as the single-sided version, so the decision is about the space rather than the budget.
The single-sided models sit against a wall or a privacy fence and throw everything forward.

The finish is what a guest sees. Nobody standing on your patio can tell whether the firebox behind the stone was engineered in a shop or stacked on site — but your wallet and your calendar can.
What You Still Need
- Finish material. Stone veneer, tile, stucco or brick, bought locally or through us. This is the part that moves the budget.
- A gas line, if you're running gas rather than wood. Licensed pro, no exceptions.
- A level base. Concrete pad, pavers or a footing, depending on the model and your ground.
- Your local rules. Some towns require a permit for a permanent outdoor fireplace, and wildfire-risk areas restrict wood burning. Check before you order, not after.
